In my early twenties I attended Essex Agricultural school in Danvers MA to learn floral design. Soon I was to see fresh cuts are just a part of the wide range of design and expertise in the beautiful industry of plants and flowers.
I found myself working for a family business in the garden city of Newton MA who created glamorous floral design and was delighted to become the perennial, annual, and shrubbery buyer. This is how I learned about all of the varieties, when they bloomed, and how they grew. It helped to have an extensive garden of my own to study, learn and enjoy the wonders of gardening which became my life's passion.
So many gardens, so many gardening friends it seems its the way for me. Either designing, coaching, or sharing the love of gardening which has been the one constant in my life. How wonderfully rewarding to nurture the space, watch it transform, and appreciate the ever changing landscape that your hands helped to create. And yes I will still create beautiful wedding flowers now and then for close family and friends, who could resist making the brides bouquet....
This wedding was in Lenox the summer of 2022, it was hot, but the blooms blossomed, and the bride was blushing.
Thats how long they were married when they asked me to "whip up" a few celebratory pieces for their vow renewal, I was honored to be included.
A September celebration, always lovely with the day's warmth of the summer sunflowers and the seasons turning Hydrangea, millet of fall, and crisp cool evenings
